I started in the potato industry in 1992 working for Branston Potatoes Ltd, as an Agronomist in the earlier years then taking on seed management as well where I was responsible for seed production, sales and variety development. In 2012 I moved to KWS UK to take over as the Product Manager for potatoes looking after variety selection from the Dutch breeding programme for the UK market and the seed production programme in Scotland and England. In 2016 STET BV bought out the potato breeding programme from KWS and I joined STET in the same year starting the UK company as the Managing Director.
The bulk of the tonnage of seed potatoes traded in Great Britain for both the home and export markets is handled by the 120 members of the new Association. This gives the Association greater negotiating power on behalf of its members.
