Alex first joined the potato industry as a ware trader at AKP Ltd in 2012. Alex has been the UK sales manager for Agrico UK Ltd since 2018. Agrico UK offers new and innovative varieties of proven quality, developed to meet both the present and future demands of the UK market. Agrico’s varieties are the result of extensive research and development in partnership with Agrico Research based in the Netherlands. We have nearly 40 years’ experience as a breeder and supplier in the UK and international markets. Whilst the UK HQ is based in Angus, Alex is home based in England where he also manages Agrico’s English seed area.

Alex was elected onto council in 2020. He chairs the Europatat committee and sits on the Legal and Arbitration committee. Within his role at Agrico, he deals with the majority of the BPTA membership and would encourage them to engage with him on any BPTA business.

Away from work Alex lives in Derbyshire and is a keen sports fan, enjoying his rugby, racing, cricket and shooting.
